SRE DevOps Automation Engineer – HPE (Hyderabad & Pennada Agraharam)

Job Description
The SRE DevOps Automation Engineer role at HPE Hybrid Cloud involves managing cloud-native applications, ensuring uptime, and supporting 24×7 operations across two locations — Hyderabad, Telangana and Pennada Agraharam, Andhra Pradesh. This onsite position requires deep experience in automation, Kubernetes, Ubuntu, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and cloud infrastructure. Engineers in this role support HPE’s next-generation cloud platform, GreenLake, by enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining security standards, and ensuring smooth deployment lifecycles.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to break down complex problems, and the skills to engineer solutions that support mission-critical cloud environments. Collaboration with project managers, developers, architects, and global peers is a key part of the job, along with contributing to innovation and service improvement across HPE’s cloud offerings.

Key Responsibilities
• Work as part of a 24×7 operations team, managing cloud-native applications in shift-based schedules.
• Monitor and remediate alerts to ensure constant uptime and platform health.
• Develop and maintain automation systems for operational efficiency and compliance.
• Execute automation scripts and debug issues across cloud systems and applications.
• Use CI/CD pipelines and GitOps for deployment, configuration, and platform management.
• Patch cloud environments to address vulnerabilities and maintain platform security.
• Manage large-scale AWS cloud infrastructure following best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to applications, system administration, and networks.
• Collaborate with peers, architects, project managers, and engineering teams to enhance platform reliability.
• Analyze recurring incidents and implement long-term fixes to prevent downtime.
• Contribute to cloud development efforts, innovation projects, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Maintain documentation, processes, and technical standards across all cloud automation workflows.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• 8–12 years of professional experience in SRE, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Automation roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Ubuntu operating systems and Kubernetes cluster management.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Terraform, or related automation tools.
• Experience managing large-scale platforms through CI/CD pipelines and GitOps models.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud-native components.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving cloud environments.
• Excellent debugging skills for cloud systems, container platforms, and network issues.
• Familiarity with security practices including patching, CVEs, and vulnerability management.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments across both work locations.
